Where is Pyeongchang?
I created this DLO that shows how far away Pyeongchang is from Auckland. I now know Pyeongchang is in South Korea. South Korea is near Thailand, China and Japan, and is next to North Korea. One fact I found interesting was that North and South Korea speak the same language.

Take care of your teeth
This week we have been focusing on how we need to share a message with our school community. We have created this DLO for Room 5 to show them how we can take care of our teeth and what can happen if we don't look after them. I made this animation/presentation with my friend Dallas. The hardest thing was to write simple words so the children in Room 5 can understand our message. The easiest thing was choosing the photos.

Screencastify
Last week we used Screencastify to record our learning. To use Screencastify we had to plan and write a script of what we were going to say. Then you open the app to record. Make sure you talk clearly. Once your Screencastify has been completed you can publish it to your blog. You need to make sure that anyone with the link can view and you need the embed code.

The people in our local community
I used Tagul to create this word cloud that shows who the people are in our local community. A community is a group of people who live in the same place [eg; panmure], or have a common connection [eg; the Niuean community]

planes
Text: Mig 21
Read the text and record key words/phrases that answer these questions:
Who? Mig 21
|
What?
The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21 is a supersonic jet fighter aircraft, designed by the Mikoyan-Gurevich Design Bureau in the Soviet Union
|
Where?
February 14, 1955
|
When?
1959
|
Why? mid-1959 and ended on August 16, 1959, when an Iraqi Air Force MiG-21, flown by the Iraqi Assyrian defector Munir Redfa, landed an air base in Israel. Israel and the United States were able to study the design of the plane.
|
How? On December 12, 1959, at the height of the India-Pakistan war, one of the
most awaited events in aviation history took place. Two MiG-21 fighters of the Indian Air Force’s No.47 squadron, providing air patrol to sensitive installations in western India, intercepted a couple of Pakistan Air Force F-104 Starfighters approaching the city of Jamnagar. The MiGs drew first blood – while one Starfighter managed to flee in the direction of Pakistan, the other one was shot down over the Gulf of Kutch.
